About The Chanzo Africa

The Chanzo Africa is a continental news edition dedicated to telling Africa’s most important stories with depth, fairness, and a commitment to ground-up journalism. We cover politics, economics, climate, technology, health, culture, and the experiences of Africans at home and in the diaspora — reported from within the continent, not from the outside looking in.

We believe Africa deserves journalism that goes beyond just reporting the news to also telling the meaning behind it. Our reporters are based across the continent, bringing you coverage grounded in the communities they cover.

The Chanzo Africa is owned and operated by The Chanzo Initiative, a digital-first media organisation based in Tanzania, established in July 2020.

The Chanzo has built a reputation as a trustworthy, independent news source, owned and run by journalists and founded on the principles of veracity and accuracy. The Chanzo Africa extends that mission to the broader African continent. Visit the main site at thechanzo.com.
